The Icebreaker

bold · first mover · unfazed

You were three steps down the road before anyone agreed it was a road. Somebody has to say the first real thing, and it's reliably you.

The pattern

The Icebreaker reads as goes first, on purpose — one of the fifteen patterns a FaceTell read can name. If your cover says The Icebreaker, this is the shape of the read.

The edge

You move before there's proof it's safe, which is the only way anything new actually starts. Rooms and projects open up behind you because someone was willing to be first through.

The cost

Going first looks a lot like going wrong, right up until it doesn't. You spend a fair stretch out ahead by yourself, and people remember the one that didn't land more clearly than the ten that opened the door.

The play

Nothing starts until somebody goes first, and that's reliably you — that's nerve, not restlessness. Just let someone else take a turn opening now and then; a door stays open once it's been pushed.

An archetype describes what a photo showed on the day it was taken — a way of coming across, not a fixed identity. Your own read is personalized to your face: same pattern, your specifics.
